My wife recently came back from a trip to Ramallah, Palestine. She brought back a gift containing a shavette, some shaving cream and after shave lotion. The green “Man” shaving cream are produced in Ramallah, Palestine. The “Minus 417” from Dead sea cosmetics are made in Israel. I have now tested The “Man”, wich was quite good but with an unusual soap-smell. The “minus 417” after shave lotion was excellent. From minus417.com: It “Contains Aloe Vera and Chamomile extracts to soothe freshly-shaved skin, as well as Vitamin Mineral Complex, a scientific combination of moisture balancing minerals form the Dead Sea, energizing vitamins (A, B, E, F and H) that nourish the skin and unique plant extracts”.
The shavette reminded me why i dont like shavettes — I allways get nicks and cuts when usin shavettes. Its like shaving with a safety razor with no safety bar or comb. The shave becomes very harsh. Also the length of the blade is short, so i cut my self on the sharp corners of the edge.
So, i’ll stick to my straight razors and DE-razors 🙂
I bought the knife in the Old City of Jerusalem. I was ripped off on the price. 400 NIS is too much. 400 NIS is 83 EUR or ap. 700 NOK. Well well. Next time.
