A few years ago I discovered the art of shaving with the old type “safety razor.” After some trial and error, I got the hang of it. To my delight, it turns out that the shave is just as good (if not better) with the old equipment, and it is also more economical. The classic shaving equipment has a long life, and a 100 year old razor can work just as fine as a new one.\u00a0I have also expanded the “repertoire” to include shaving with a straight razor.
\nI collect razors, straight razors, razor blades and other equipment. The most important thing for me is not to have a large collection, but to learn as much as possible about the equipment \u2013 and the history of the craft and the tools.
\nWith this blog I plan to share my joy of “the art of classic wet shaving” with others, and make some reflections on the topic.<\/p>\n
I started this blog in Norwegian, but has now switched to English language, to expand the audience to include shaving enthusiasts from around the world.
\nI am not an English speaking person, so I hope you only see the humor in some “Norwenglish” now and then \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

For noen \u00e5r siden oppdaget jeg kunsten \u00e5 barbere meg med gammeldagse barberh\u00f8vler av type \u00absafety razor\u00bb. Etter mye pr\u00f8ving og feiling, fikk jeg taket p\u00e5 det. Til min glede viser det seg at barberingen blir like bra (om ikke bedre) med det gamle utstyret, og det er ogs\u00e5 mer \u00f8konomisk. Det klassiske utstyret har ogs\u00e5 lang levetid, og en 100 \u00e5r gammel h\u00f8vel kan fungere like fint som en ny. Jeg har ogs\u00e5 utvidet reportoaret til \u00e5 inkludere barbering med kniv (\u00abstraight razor\u00bb).
\nJeg samler p\u00e5 h\u00f8vler, kniver og annet barberutstyr, men det viktigste for meg er ikke \u00e5 f\u00e5 en stor samling, men \u00e5 l\u00e6re mest mulig om utstyret \u2014 og h\u00e5ndverket.
